Christian education is life long. Our education begins before we are even cognizant: with baptism or even before. And through the blessings of our faith and congregational life, our earthly education continues until the very moment we pass.
In this spirit, First Church seeks to educate across the full spectrum of interests and ages. From Sunday School through Confirmation, from frequent Second Hour presentations (after Sunday worship) to public lectures that press the intersection of faith and culture, from world-class concerts and events to various small-group ministries—"The Church at the Center…" cherishes education’s ability to spark our spirit, open our eyes (in a world of many religions), and test our faith.
By honoring our youth’s fresh perspective, their willingness to hope, and their capacity to learn, question and to care on the deepest levels, First Church celebrates our youth. We invite them to assume their rightful place at Christ’s welcome table. And, as appropriate, we encourage them to assume for themselves the responsibilities and pleasures of being members of a congregation, a community, and the human family.
