Music is an integral and vital part of the life of "The Church at the Center." Under the leadership of the Director of Music, our volunteer Senior Choir ministers to us with their voices most every Sunday throughout the year (July & August the choir takes a well-earned rest). The Senior Choir rehearses weekly on Thursday evenings.
A Handbell Choir rehearses and performs periodically, typically joining us in worship twice during the year.
Volunteer directors lead our Children’s Choir, which brings joy and inspiration to us all whenever they join us in worship.
In 2006, we dedicated a new hymnal, Hymns of Truth & Light, published by The First Congregational Church of Houston, Texas, and to which we added a customized selection of hymns and a history of "The Church at the Center…".
We invite guest musicians to inspire us as well. Most recently, we welcomed singer/songwriter David Morgan and his jazz trio as well as noted jazz vocalist Kelly Mittleman and her band. These professional artists have added spirit to our fellowship and nourished our souls. In addition, we’ve enjoyed annual visits from a local Gospel Choir.
