At First Church, we cherish the bonds of friendship established among our members and friends. Forged in a variety of ways – through study group, on mission trips, over coffee during our Sunday morning fellowship hour, at an Octet dinner gathering, or at one of the many social or educational events sponsored by our church – fellowship is the both the joy and the spiritual heartbeat of our covenant with one another.

The overwhelming majority of our members were reared in religious traditions other than the Congregational Church or United Church of Christ. We hold a wide variety of political and theological perspectives. We occupy the geographic center of a town with very few traditional "neighborhoods." We are almost all very busy people. Yet at "The Church at the Center…" we find common ground, food for thought, sanctity of individual conscience, a way to recharge our spiritual batteries, and a spirit of welcome for all.

We cherish inclusive Christianity community. So whether you are a member of this church or not, whether you are very sure of what you believe and how you articulate your faith, or whether you are a seeker who is plagued by uncertainties and doubt, know that you are welcome here.
